Favorite Muscle Cars of the "Muscle Car Era"?

Non-Beer Discussion by KISSMYBASS

Heres a subject that should weed out alot of the younger members...Im a mustang fan(65-73) owning 2-66' coupes and a 73' Mach I in my time. But the 69' Shelby GT 500 convertible with 428 CJ engine would be my all time Favorite! Unfortunately I'll never see the likes of one in my driveway unless someone pulls up to ask for directions. The price tag went through the roof overnight some 10 years ago and my dream went with it? I could go on and on but I'll start with this one and read some of yours. I do feel though as years go 67' was very kind to that Era, wouldnt you agree? Kissmybass

I think I have died and gone to heaven. Have you seen the 2006 Mustang Cobra GT500? It has to be the best looking car made sense 1973, which so happens was the last yr Ford made the Mustang... It is all over the web including MSN. You shouldnt have trouble finding pictures through one of your favorite search engines. Tell me I'm wrong, and I'll tell you alot more than go to H@#* If there is better one, lets hear what it is. Although it could be the Ford GT, but thats unatainable, so lets be realistic. Hottest car under 40-50 thousand? KMB

1# HEMI (Charger,Cuda,Dart, ect.) 2# Shelby (anything Shelby touched is Gold) 3# Yenco (Best thing to happen the Chevy) Never could afford any of these rides, but did own an AMC Gremlin X. Took down more Chevy's and Fords with that sleeper. Nothing like watching a guys face putting some green in your hand and asking "what you got in that?" Ahhh, the good old days.....

In Reply To #48 American Iron the Dodge Viper Pickup hits about 50 even. Six speed 4.11 gears, 550 ftlb torque, that is one quick machine. Ford Lighting would be another stormer in that price range. BMW M3 comes to mind as well. Then there is the good used Porsche that is never to be despised.

How did I miss this one? I've been a Mopar fan since the mid-sixties (so how come I drive a pair of Fords?), and I would die for a wing car - Hemi Charger Daytona, please. Come on big lottery win...

I am a Mopar guy all the way. Before I was born my parents had a 1971 dark blue 383 Challenger 4 speed. Would have been sweet if they had kept it. My brother's first car was a 1972 Charger with a non factory 383. My first car was a 1970 Challenger that was Go Mango Orange. It had a non factory 360 and a slapstick shifter. I no longer own that car, it was a gas hog and high maintenance. My dream muscle car is a 1969-70 B body Mopar with a 426 Hemi or 440 Six Pack. So a Charger, Super Bee, Road Runner or GTX. A 1959 Plymouth Fury (Like Christine) would also be sweet, but not really a muscle car.

does anyone remeber the late 70's early 80's oldsmobile cutlass sierra's. even though the "era" was over by then, they embody the spirit of a muscle, and for all intents and purposes, they are a muscle car.

My first car was a 1966 emberglo mustang coupe v289 that was 100% stock, with 23k in miles and pony leather interior. What I would give to have that car now. Since I can't, I just ordered a 2006 GT Convertible in Vista Blue. It won't compensate, but it will help me feel better about myself and ever having sold that car.
