Abusive Thread

Non-Beer Discussion by FLASHPRO

I just had to delete a thread called "myke vs dansting". It was complete trash and a waste of my time. I have no idea what started that, and even after reading it in depth I couldn't see what it was about or who started the unclear problem. Of course, this doesn't matter anyway, and as far as I'm concerned, everyone who got involved is at fault. I don't ever want to see an thread for the purpose of picking on members again. Anyone who creates one will receive a forum ban. [V]

I completely agree and I take full responsibility for my part in it. The question is, will anyone else?

That's the kind of antagonistic crap I want off this site. Please stop.

Again Flash, I'm sorry. I just didn't like having a rumour started about me and I let it get the better of me.

From time to time, I grab a brew that I found in the cellar (forgot it) and like to review how well it survived. I have about 5 of these that were bottled August 12th, 2004 and are best before the same date in 2009 (so, almost 5 years outdated). Aromas are sour like a Flemish Sour and with some spices. The taste is not the same, with no sourness, just yeast and feels like old plastic. So, I guess this one does not stay good past the best before date (unlike the St. Bernardus Abt 12 I just had). Never was a big fan of this beer anyways.

The fresher the better. I've had one batch that was just under 6mos old. It was my favorite of them all. As with most beers, this does not better with extensive age, although a year or two it seems to do quite ok.

I agree. This beer definitely does not age too well. Just had a fresh, non-oxidized bottle of Orval last week from a friend who was in Belgium. Delicious!

yup, yup, yup...... fresh has a great hop bite and spritzy, zesty goodness. year old contains a minor hop bite, but the brett is in grand fashion 2-years is my limit, nice bretty funk
