Two more varitey Cases for the month.
General Beer Discussion by DEMASKE
I bought two more varitey cases for this month. Saranac 12 beer's of summer and Penn Brewery Gourmet selection. That shoul;d do me for the month. Oh Yea,Wife seen the Bud Race car cooler with beer in it (she dont drink) but I bought it anyway.I still like to have a bud once in a while, keeps me appreciative of the fine work and knowledg of the Craft Brewer. The cooler will come in handy anyway.[;)] Im fortunate my wife cares about me.[8D] Paul

You better put those brews in your inventory and add them to the inventory option so we can see all the different beers you will be sampling this month. Two cases of different beer sounds good! Fifty new brews (500 caps)! Look forward to reading your reviews! [:D] Happy drinking and, cheers! Bottoms up!
That would be 48 beers, only 12 different Saranacs, and I doubt Penn Brewery makes 24 different ones [:p] How many different ones are there in that Penn Brewery variety? 6?

I'll get to inventory in a bit. I got ripped on the Penn case.My fault though.I got two of the same 12 packs(someo0ne not playing fair) I missed out on the Oktoberfest and the St. Nickolaus Bock. I take the blame because there is white tags on top of each 12 pack with what beers are in them and I didnt check,But still I feel cheated. But ill let it go and leave it as a learning lesson to look (read) before I buy. YES , should be 6 differant beers in the Penn Case.Penn Dark,Penn Gold,Penn Weizen,Penn Pilsner,(and the I ones missed)Oktoberfest, and St.Nickolaus Bock. All in All I am very happy with it,I do like weizen and now I have more of them[:D] Paul
Hey Paul, maybe you should have received a Maibock or a leftover Maerzen from the spring season in that Penn Pack....I would call the brewery and inquire about that....You are probably not going to get St. Nicks or OkFest this time of year (althoght Maerzen is practically the same thing).....I am surprised they didn't throw in a Kaiser Pils or a Crew Lager into the mix! Oiz I understand now, That St. Nick. would be a little past prime. I still should have been more carfull and read the stickers on the 12 packs. As I said before,I'm happy with it eaither way.But you are correct. I see by the dawns early light,I have a lot to learn."This Craft beer stuff is fun and enjoyable to learn." So far I think the barleywines is my favorite,Loads of flavore and stores well. I'm pretty sure I will try some home brewing when I get the funds.I would like to try brewing some of that Barleywine but I'll do the simple reipes first till I get my feet wet and get a hang of the basic of brewing. Hopefully I'll get a chance to try homebrewing by the end of July. Paul

Try the Abbey Quads and Imperial Stouts. Loads of flavor and store well too. (I'm a newbie learner too, but enjoy those two styles that match your criteria above.)

What I don't understand is how you got 12 packs in PA? Usually cases in our state contain 4 six packs, 6 four packs, or dividers for all 24.

The Saranac 12 Beers of Summer variety pack only has 6 different beers in it (2 of each). I bought it for a gathering of some friends recently, and those there with beer taste (eaglefan538 was one) didn't find any they tried any good at all. I've had a couple out of it and was highly unimpressed as well. Magic Hat has a summer variety pack coming out soon (may be out already). I believe it's #9, Hocus Pocus, their new mystery product and the HIPA (3 of each)...but I could be wrong.
