Typically when the brew crew makes a new beer it goes on tap at the brewery for a while and eventually runs out. A year later they’ll consider making the beer again if it was popular. Double Trouble, the teams first crack at a an Imperial IPA was beyond popular. In fact they’re still working on a word that accurately describes how well received this beer was and as a result, we decided to brew it again. A double IPA is pretty much how it sounds, double the hops, double the malts and double the flavour. It packs a powerfully balanced punch that isn’t for everyone but those who like it…..well they are just very fond of it is all. So, consider yourself warned, Double Trouble is back and it’s moving fast. 2011 Version: 9.9% ABV 2014 Version: 8.0% ABV

    Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

First ever Beer Geeks Anonymous gathering and they brought in a keg of this, apparently this will be the first and last time ever in Alberta. Pint poured within seconds of keg tapping. Gold body ok cap, nothing special here. Aroma is standard grapefruit, leather, wood, some malty sweetness. My blond friend is saying peaches I agree but I also don’t agree with that. Sweet malty taste with a good bitter balance. I can hit more peach in the flavor than in the aroma, heavy leather, a wood pile after a rain fall. Ok stuff nothing over the top or crazy just a simple IIPA that easily drinkable. Great first event for Beer Geeks Anonymous!
