The Renegade is a malty extra special bitter ale, ruby red in color, and hopped to balance malt and suite the style. Like its namesake, the beer comes on with a bold sweetness, has a smooth full body feel, and a finish that snares the palate.

Pours dark brown and slightly cloudy with average head and some lacing. The aroma is malty and also average. The flavor features floral hops and sweet malts nicely balanced. It reminds me of a trippel, which is better than anything I had hoped for. Soft, fizzy carbonation and a satisfying, medium body make it a delight to drink.

Sampled from bottle. Pours a cloudy, tarnished copper/brown with a foamy off-white head. Aroma has citrus and floral hops and a candy-like sweetness. Flavor is nicely bitter with strong caramel malt backbone and black pepper and berry fruit accents. Toasted bread and holiday-like spices present as well. Medium-bodied with zesty carbonation. An easy drinking session bitter.
