Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6
My second product from Ybor Gold brewing out of the mixed 15-pack I picked up recently. The aroma is refreshing and sweet with some wheat malt coming through with some light fruits like apple, pear, or banana with some nice maltiness. The appearance is a hazy golden yellow when held to the light with a creamy head on top that is bubbly and white in color and remains only diminishing to a creamy lacing that coats the glass nicely. The mouthfeel is light-bodied and smooth with some nice malty complexity with effecient balace with a palate that is watery but coats nicely and gets the job done. The flavor is wheaty, grainy, somewhat fruity with hints of spice with an aftertaste that is smooth and satisfying and very easy to drink with a finish that is fresh and clean and very palateable and a great addition to the host of Summer brews out there. Overall, not a bad brew but I am not big on American wheat beers but this would be great on a hot day and would be more thirst quenching than mass-produced swill; I can see myself making this a staple for the Summertime here in the South.
