Structures Brewing out of Bellingham WA rolled through town a few weeks ago! These folks make some incredible beer with similar hoppy beer ethos to us. So it made sense to whip this one up together and create a beautiful 10 barrel batch. Oh, that’s Bertha on the label. She’s not exactly a horse, but not exactly a dog either? We’re not too sure but she’s definitely a sweetheart. MEDIUM SIZED HORSE is a A 100% WA grown Strata hopped 100% AZ grown grain medium sized IPA. We went with a simple grain bill of @sinaguamalt AZ grown Copeland barley malt & @grainrandd malted AZ Sonora white wheat. Hopped heavily with Roy farms premium Strata (thanks to structures for securing these!) In the whirlpool & a nearly double dry hop of the same towards the end of fermentation. This strata is definitely unique and probably one of the coolest hop characters we’ve experienced in an ipa. Completely saturated with peach candy vibes, Mandarin, soft fresh fruit at a hotel breakfast bar. 7.6% abv.

Rated Dec. 2020. Pint can pours with a murky opaque dull gold body that supports a near white head of foam. The aroma offers up tangerine, cantaloupe, honeydew and a bit of banana flavored bubble gum. The taste delivers similar notes with a brief hit of tangy juicy tangerine followed quickly by sweet tropical cantaloupe and mango. To midway a distracting sweet banana sensation intercedes and mildly disrupts the experience and leaves it on the sweet side.
