Introducing LOVER BOY WALLY, a 10% Hazy TIPA... Wally is back and just in time for Valentine's Day! For this one, we started with a classic Wally grain bill including Pilsner base malt, AZ-grown Blue Beard Durum, Malted oats and a touch of malted wheat for added body and head retention. We decided to show a whole lot of love in the hop department. Heavy handed additions of Strata and Mandarina Bavaria were added during the whirlpool followed by Strata, Centennial and Cryopop during dry hopping. For those wondering, Cryopop is a unique hop blend from @yakimachief that increases tropical fruit notes and brings up thiol levels to help enhance the fruitiness of the other hop varieties. The result is a beautiful balance of both piney and tropical notes on both the nose and palate as well as a little peach ring thing going on. Aside form the hops, the other standout on this one is the beautiful body that results in a mouthfeel like no other. We think we're in love this one.

Rated March 2022. Pint can pours with a murky opaque dull gold to faded copper colored body that supports an off white head of foam. The aroma offers up tangerine, mango, mango skin, guava and a hit of raspberry. The taste is both smooth to almost creamy as well as a bit abrasive with what seems like astringent modestly harsh qualities. The taste reflects what's picked up in the nose pretty closely with tangy tangerine blended with sort of raspberry and blueberry. Beyond that there's soft guava and mango running up against what seems like a bristling bright near astringent mango skin like sensation that detracts from the experience a bit. If that harshness could be toned down or aged away or, better yet, covered by maybe 16% ABV of booze, this really could be a great one.
