Fresh Hop IPA comes to Arizona?! Outside of the bountiful Pacific Northwest, it’s rare to find high quality, consistent hop growers but we’re lucky to have access to immaculate Southwest Grown hops through Billy Goat Hop Farm in Montrose, CO. This year, we drove out to their farm over a long weekend and picked up 600 lbs of freshly picked Cascade and Comet, loaded them into a rental van, and booked it back to Prescott to start one of the most fun brew days of the year. With a lean grist, 20 lbs per barrel of Fresh Cascade and Comet in the mash tun, and a modest dry hop of their ‘22 Cascade and Comet pellets (we really like their Cascade and Comet…), Fresh Hop IPA gives a floral bitterness and exceptional grapefruit flavor and aroma.
