Spiced ale. No. 2 in the series of WinterCoat egnsøl. Niels Jørn Thomsen has long struggled with the idea egnsøl that takes inspiration from specific areas and make use of local ingredients. The first was egnsøl Vildmoseøl. Now presented Mols Beer, brewed with barley, wheat, oats, and rugmalt and gently spiced with wild thyme and juniper branches. The color is dark amber with a reddish glow. The taste is slightly sweet, with a finely balanced bitterness and a fresh aftertaste, where rye, juniper and thyme foreshadowed in fine harmony. The fresh lightness is particularly suitable for fish, chicken, pork and lunch dishes.

At Copenhagen Beer Festival. Hazy brown colour. Aroma and flavour of smoke, wood, juniper and wild thyme. Might be said to be interesting, but not really great. More smoke than I expected.

Had@CPH BF 2011. Amber colour, small head. Aroma is spices, leathery notes, mild toasted notes as well as some slight earthyness. Flavour is spices, quite malty and mild snuff and rye as well.
