Lighter than even e Peres for the style, slightly grassy, slightly gassy, and a little off as a whole. Not really anything redeeming and not a good deal at any price point.

Not sure really how hold this was, but between the last review and this one, it’s nearly 3 years between. It doesn’t look good for the case of freshness, as I too picked up a sixer of this at Grocery Outlet.

The beer pours out a light golden yellow color, lots of visible carbonation and a small white head that melted as quickly as it was poured. Aroma had a light grassy quality to it, not much skunk (thankfully) a touch of sweetness to it and some dirty penny-like profile. Flavor was extremely light tasting, with just a touch of sour-like malts, a bit of sweetness and not much else. It wasn’t horrible if it was past it’s prime, nor was it something to cherish either.

Was browsing round the Canned Food Grocery Outlet when I came across this. Plain Blue label with a wild boar head on it, brwon 12 oz long neck. Actually not a bad looking pilsner at all, bright golden ( though slighly hazy) with a nice bubble white head. pretty grassy hop aroma on this one too, much better thah I expected. The taste is pleasant also, quite hopy indeed but has a good stiff malt backbone to hold it up. I wasnt sure if this was a German or a Bohemian but the strong malt backbone for me puts it with the likes of Pilsner Urquell , though not nearly as good. Quite nice on the palate, actually quite full for the style. I was really surprised, but this was actually quite a good American attempt at a pilsner. Good value at $3.99 a sixer.
