This pure strong beer specialty appears in a full red and mohagony brown colour with a long standing head that is reminiscent of the cream of top of a cappucino. Its aroma can be compared to a basket of tropical fruits with hints of peach and melon. But one can also smell shades of apple, orange, pineapple and banana. With the first sip, the syrupy wet liquid tastes sweet, much like honey or liquor. The strong flavour of caramel is followed by a bitter and warm aftertaste. This style of Bockbier is best suited for spicy dishes or a strong tasting cheese.

    Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

750 ml capped bottle, bought at the brewery. Poured in the original Weyermann glass an unfiltered and light hazy ruby-brown coloured Doppelbock with a one finger beige foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Sustained carbonation. Some lacing. The aroma is sweety toasted malts, caramel, a bench of riped fruits, oranges, peaches and a touch of barnyard. The flavour is sweety caramel malts, candy sugar, riped fruits, oranges, citrus. The mouthfeel is fulled, thick and syrupy. This full bodied Doppelbock has a dry malty and fruity finish. The well hidden alcohol leads to the expected and nice warming aftertaste. This Doppelbock, because of its well hidden alcoholic level, could easily become a dangerous liquid bomb.
