The beer poured a dark brown, almost black colour with a creamy tan coloured head. The aroma was roasted malt, coffee, and heavy on spices (ginger, clove and nutmeg). The mouthfeel was medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was sweet chocolate, spices, roasted malt, and a hint of coffee. I really enjoyed this beer. -

Pours a very large frothy creamy head that dissipates to a good size coating. Has a dark brown appearance. Lacing is ok. Aromas of sweet and toasty malts, roasted malt, cinammon, spices and coffee. Flavours are mainly malty, lots of sweet malts, toasted malts, coffee, spices, chocolate. The spicy chai notes are quite subtle but still fairly significant. Smooth and slick mouthfeel. Good stuff.

Bottle with cap and resealable flip-top. Pours a real dark brown colour with hardly any highlights. Creamy-froth mocha-coloured head, good retention and some light lacing. Chai latte smell with the spices (cinnamon, cloves), roasted malts with notes of dark fruits and chocolate. The taste does not have much of these spices. More of the stout-side with the roasted malt. Burnt wood lingers giving some smokiness. Eventually, some nice hoppiness appears in the aftertaste. Pretty easy-drinking overall with the beautiful aromas which do not over-rich the mouth.
