Liquid does not break fasting - fasting was the rule at the times of the Benedictine monks in Weissenohe. This we now owe the mirror carp than fast food and the strong Doppelbock as liquid food in this barren time. We have for you, in this tradition, our strong brewed Bonator as dark Doppelbock, physical and spiritual strengthening in the "Staaden" time. Double Bock, a dark, spicy and strong as is the tradition requires. Suitable for: goulash, Schäuferle, Krustenbraten, hearty snacks and powerful game dishes

Sampled on 11/6/2009. This dopplebock pours a dark brown color from a 50cl swingtop. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, dark fruit and sweet. A medium bodied dopplebock. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are earthy. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Very drinkable beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Really nize hazelbrown color with stiff and stable foam. Aroma has some caramel and cookies in it. Taste is smooth and creamy and the high volume of alcohol is not so strong in aftertaste, but still warming and nice with hints of nuts, caramel and hops.
