A strange metallic bitterness makes this hyped lager no favourite of mine.

330 ml bottle into glass. Sweet malt nose. Pale amber with large white head. A few bubbles. Watery, a little bitter but a full-on sweet finish. Cardboard and paper. Average.

12 oz bottle. Clear pale gold color with thin white head. It has that pale grainy maltiness to the aroma. I can also pick up on the smell of floral spice hops. Tastes just as it smells with grainy Munich style malts plus floral spicy hops. Refreshing brew although a bit lacking in depth. It also comes off a bit watery. There is a nice hop bite that lingers in the aftertaste.

12 oz brown bottle. Pop the lid and get a whiff of cabbage family cooked vegetables. After it ends up in the glass it is much more attractive, has a plastic or chemical sterile aroma. The look of this beer is rather different than others. At first I thought that it was full of fine bubbles that was not rising to the top but upon closer inspection I see these are some kind of particles in there floating around. This is interesting and hypnotizing, I hope I just don’t have a bad bottle. I looked in the bottom of the bottle, like a wheat beer, and there is no sludge on the bottom, go figure. Other than that the beer is pale yellow with a ring around the inside of the glass for a head. Very smooth initial flavors. It has the same kind of flavor that the aroma insists. It’s not plastic or chemical in a bad way, it seems very refined and controlled. There is a slight hop or malt bitterness that builds on the back of the throat. Enjoyable with just the right amount of bitter personality. The carbonation provides just the right amount of tingle on the back of your tongue. The bitterness that builds as you drink keeps trying to insult the back of my throat but really never quite gets there. Overall a well mannered refined and cultivated German beer taste. I’m sorry I waited so long to taste this.

Had this multiple times over the years, still a good beer, nothing special but a decent beer.

33cl bottle on a Lufthansa flight to Munich. Pours golden with a white head. Grainy aroma with some grassy notes and hints of fruits. Moderate sweet a fairly decent bitterness. Weak in flavour, but fair enough.

Can. Colour – light gold, white cap, frothy, not a lot of effervescence. Aroma – grassy malts, light floral hops, weak yeast. Mouthfeel – medium bodied, medium carbonation, very crisp. Flavour – typical German pils…..grainy malt shines through and noble hops back it up.

ok..when I was Over there this brew was not on the radar, as it was just another Pils...ah so much better there was. Now 2017...and 12 miles down the road, for $9 with tax I can buy sixers of Warsteiner...at the local bar..the new GO TO Brew!! no nasty ipa, fosteeeers...this has a malty nose, damn nice body, GREAT flavor..low alcohol at 4.8 but damn good every day brew. A bit like Bitt and not as good as the now gone Spatan Pils, but for old Snake View its THE BREW!!! (reason for the 7 overall..its not great bud damn good)

Pours a typical clear yellow amber with a thin white head. Aroma is crisp and malty with fruity undertone. Malty flavor has subtle notes of pear and banana. Texture has average viscosity and not much fizz. Average, but pleasing and refreshing. Good for a party.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle. Aroma- caught a whiff of hops and maybe a floral backdrop. Appearance- A nice golden yellow color, clear with a lot of carbonation bubbles, nice white head. Taste- A nice robust bitter bite that was not overwhelming. A good flavor. Palate- Medium bodied with a good level of carbonation. Overall- not a bad beer, better than Beck’s and St. Pauli Girl
