The ale has a cloudy, burnt amber color and develops a thick, fluffy ivory-colored head, which slowly dissipates to Brussels lace in the glass. An attractive caramel malt and brown sugar aroma and light floral bouquet delicately hint at the sturdy and complex flavors to follow. A rich caramel and sweet malt flavor is rounded by a balancing alcohol sharpness and floral hops bitterness. As the ale warms, a faint (apple cider) fruity and mixed spice prescence emerges, bringing further depth and character to its flavor. A substantive (almost chewy) mouthfeel conveys the abundant malt and hop characters to a surprisingly quick, dry finish. Partaking in this seasonal ale was an extremely enjoyable experience and worth repeating

This tastey winter brew pours a nice cloudy amber colour with a small vanilla coloured head. nutty aroma, with a hint of caramel and cloves. another nice brew from Wachusett.

This was an enjoyable beer. It poured a very attractive dark amber color with a thick, creamy head. The aroma was nice-somewhat malty. The taste was good and smooth with just a tiny bit of a bitter aftertaste. Pick this up if you see it...many of the Wachusett products are quite good.

This is another consistantly strong offering from one of mt favorite breweries. Poured a dark amber wiith a white head. There was a generous amount of lacing in the glass. The mix of aromas and flavors was pleasent and interesting. I like the malty, hoppy blend with the sweetness. What I like best is that there is no overpowering spice flavor that IMO truly detracts from many holiday beers that otherwise would be very good

Of the two winter beers I sampled tonight. Far better than the other (Harpoon). Pours a nice amber color with a thick head and quite a bit of lacing. Very flavorful malty taste with lots of brown sugar notes in there. Relatively warming and quite smooth. There's also some spice, with a slightly bitter finish. Nice.

Pours a dark amber, lots of head and some lace. Tastes like I just rodered from a pub, which is not a bad thing! Slightly bitter aftertaste makes me not relish each sip, but this beer is far and away better than most micro's I've tried. Try the nut brown ale for an alternative from Wachusett.
