Disclaimer: I'm rating this purely on style. This tastes absolutely nothing like an IPA. If it were an amber, that would make perfect sense. I think I got duped with this one. Now granted, I've been keeping my beers piss warm lately with this refridgerated beer strike I've gone on lately. But no way in God's green earth is this an IPA. Am I on drugs or are they on drugs?! Clear orange, nice big froth head. Aroma immediately assumes a malt bomb. Taste has some sweetness possibly from that citra hop that's been being passed around everywhere. light fruit, pineapple perhaps. Like i said, if it was an amber, i would rate it a 3.2 somewere around there. but it's suppsed to be an IPA. not a chance in hell.

Love the name! What is it with IPAs and old ladies on the label today? Slap a veil and some jewels on Tyranena's Bitter Woman and you've got Queen Vic. I was impressed with the natural, warm aroma of hops and fruit - grapefruit and banana? Lightly sweet too; maybe some honey? The nose of your run-of-the-mill IPA is hops, hops, hops. This one is more complex and mysterious. A hazy amber-gold with a light tan head. Smooth and creamy on the palate rather than the expected assertive crispness. Well-balanced with a firm malt foundation and tangy understated hops. The flavors are very nice, if not exactly true to style. Viking may lose some purist style points, but not my esteem. This brew is subdued and reserved, but fascinating. This old lady isn't bitter, she's just prudish.
