Dark brown with big brown foam head lacing to glass. Aroma is bit caramel, bit nutty, bit hoppy. Taste is not too sweet, bit strong bitterness. Interesting beer. (Velp 201310)

SAQ special import. Pours a deep amber colour with lots of tiny particles. Big creamy-froth beige head, great retention and some foamy lace. Aromas are all over the place with some mild sourness, some roasted malts, dark fruits (raisins, plums), licorice, molasses and grassy hops. Slight creamy and mostly wet mouthfeel. Very light dryness in the finish, but more tart. Again, lots of dark fruits in the taste, with some mild chocolate malt and the rusty hop which I am not a fan. Other than that, decent dark Belgian Strong Ale.

Sampled with KnoxBeerCrew. Tea brown pour, short tight beige head, lazy lacing, decent carbonation. Malty and ripe fruity aroma, bread, yeasts. Flavor mimics the nose with a nice warming finish. Interesting to see this show up at a local tasting.

Bottled (from beerplanet.eu). Slightly hazy deep brown colour with a mediumsized beige head that leaves quite rich lace. Aroma is caramel malts, some dark dry fruits, spices as well as mild yeasty and bready notes. Flavour is bready and rather sweet maltyness along with some fruits, spices and mild wooden notes. Smooth carbonation.

This dark Vicaris has a dark brown colour with a medium fizzling dark beige / brown collar on top. The aroma is brown sugar, herbs, yeast and roasted coffeebeans. It feels slight accidic at first, than tastes quite fresh, although roasted and sweet, with a bit of caramel, some honey and yeast. The aftertaste is rather bitter and sweet. The alcohol gives a warming feeling in the end.
