This is our Smoked Chili Red Ale produced each year for Cinco De Mayo. The chilies used are Chipotle, Puya, Mexican Negro and Cascabel. The beer has a big smokey nose and the heat level is mild but well balanced.

Why do I keep fooling with these pepper spice beers? Anyway it poured a brown color with little head present. The aroma is malty but shove a pepper shaker up your nose. The flavor is hot with loads of black pepper and some alcohol and caramel. NEXT!

Tasted at Noogfest 4.0 (2008). This chile beer pours a medium amber color from the bottle. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is malt, some chili and some spice. A medium bodied ale. The malts are caramel and fruity. The hops are earthy. There is an intense and clean chili flavor at the finish. It just sort of comes out of left field at you. Nice. A great beer with Mexican food. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter and HOT!

One of Steve Altimari's better creations, personally I loved this beer (yes, I'm also a certified chili head). The aroma of this beer is slightly smoky, like a roasted pepper but it still maintains that beer quality. Appearance was dark orange in color. Mouthfeel was lively enought to keep things going but never dead and lifeless and never harsh. Flavors are like a nice smoky chili, perhaps adobo in flavor, and there's a little heat you get as the beer goes down the gullet. Making a chili spiced beer is hard enought and these guys do it up right.
