The third annual brew of this hopless ale uses a similar recipe to the previous versions, incorporating lemongrass, Sichuan peppercorns, hyssop, bitter orange peel, and fresh orange peel. The flaked spelt used in the past was replaced with a malted variety, giving the beer a creamier mouthfeel to balance its slightly tart and tonic-like profile. Look for it at the North American Organic Brewers Fest and a few beery bars around town.

Had this at Bailey's Taproom yesterday. Has a cloudy orange color with a creamy, medium white head. Aroma is very peppery and citrus with some dough. Pretty creamy and not very carbonated on the palate. Too strange for me, but I admit I am not well versed in gruits.

Very nice! Had this on tap 2 weekends ago. Gotta love the gruits. If you can make it pass without the hops, I'm all for that. Pours a clear amber, decent head. Spicey palate, mild maltiness, creamy and refreshing but hearty beer.
