A marriage of two of our favorite things: big beers and dark roast coffee. An imperial Baltic poter loaded up with 100% organic, fair trade coffee beans that were roasted by Arbor Vitae Coffee. The result is a wonderfully rich chocolate and coffee aroma, with nice coffee and black malt flavor and a soft clean finish.

Two Brothers is bottling 15 of their archived recipes in 22 oz bombers in celebration of their 15th anniversary. Red Eye is #1 of 15. Deep black color with a rich tan head - very attractive beer. Roasted malts and coffee flavors blend well, not one of those coffee brews that taste like coffee grounds first and beer second. Aroma was of coffee and roasted malts - quite weak imo. 9.2% ABV is hidden well, was shocked when I read that after the tasting. Finish and aftertaste follows suit - coffee and dark malts. Good beer.

Had a couple of these on draft at the brewery in Warrenville: Pours a dark mahogany near the bottom but black near the top. Instant coffee grounds and dark chocolate on the nose. Taste is pretty rich, with a bit of hotness at first. Noticeable alcohol. Subtle sweet chewy coffee flavours in the undertones of this beer all the way through. And full flavoured black malt in the finish.
