This 1998 and 2000 Colorado State Fair Gold Medal and 2000 Great American Beer Festival Bronze Medal winning brown ale is a very enjoyable brew with a chocolaty nose and a light front with a little fruit and some coffee in the second half and finish.

Sampled on 10/8/2012. This brown ale pours a medium brown color from a 12ooz bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel and fruity with some honey. A medium to light bodied brown ale. The malts are caramel, bready and sweet. The hops are earthy. Decent carbonation. Some honey and a touch of chocolate. There is some estery sweetness at the finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is mostly sweet, with some honey.

It pours a brownish-red with a thin light-tan head and some splotches of lacing. A nutty aroma of roasted malts, light hops, citrus, honey, and light spice. The mouthfeel is smooth - a little thin though. Flavors of roasted malt, hops, oranges, buts, honey and spices. Very good!
