This beer was an interesting experiment. We took dried chipotle peppers and coarsely ground cinnamon and steeped them in the stout. The cinnamon flavor presents itself nicely on the front end while the smoky chipotle peppers become apparent during the finish. The heat from the peppers, a quality not commonly found in beers, adds another layer of complexity to the roast character of the stout.

Heavy brown black pour, nice tight tan head, plenty of lacing. Lots going on here: deeply roasted malts, spicy chipotle with plenty of heat, nice dose of cinnamon, some honey, some smoke, some bitter, some more heat. This actually works very very well and probably my favorite beer at the Tennessee Winter Beer Fest. Even more pronounced as it warms leaving me wanting more! Like have a spicy smoked BBQ going on in a glass. Winner.
