Troubadour Imperial Stout is a real Imperial Stout, but with a Belgian twist. The beer is almost black and has a solid crème coloured head. It is a powerful beer with strong roasted fragrances. You can taste notes of chocolate, toffee and coffee, followed by a bitter aftertaste. A beer made for careful savouring, ideal to accompany a cosy night with friends.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken, ABV is 9%. Nearly black colour, large beige head. Vinous aroma, notes of raisins and other dark dried fruits, hints of oak, chocolate and tobacco. Light bodied and very drinkable for its strength and style. Roasty and vinous flavour, notes of roast malts, red wine, coffee, dark dried fruits, hints of chocolate.

750ml bottle that pours a dark brown colour with some copper highlights. The head is frothy, creamy-like, light warm-beige coloured with good stay and full foamy lacing. I am getting some wheat sweetness with the banana notes in the nose. Eventually, it slightly calms down showing a big of the roasted malts and warming alcohol. The taste shows more the burnt barley with some dark fruits hints. The hops are a little more present to cut the sweet aspect, and some decent bitterness and dryness comes out in the finish. Still, a little too rich for my likings.

Clear dark ruby, big brown lasting, laccing foam head. Roasted aroma, bitter taste with chocolate, coffee notes, lasting aftertaste. Great beer. (Velp 201602)

Dark black body with a nice frothy cap that leaves some good lace. Flavors steer towards bitter, old coffee with some chocolate and very faint fruit notes. Overall its o.k. but not great.
