This beer has got a dark ruby colour and is quite clear, with a slight foam collar on top. There's little aroma to it, but you could distinguish some malt. It tastes quite bitter at first, followed by a malty sweet taste and a strong alcoholic sense. Afterwards it leaves a warm syrup-like sweet taste in your troath. Quite a strange combination and overall a less than average belgian dark abbey dubbel.

Bottled. Dark ruby red colour, beige mediumsized head, lacing. Aroma is grassy hoppy along with some sweetness. Flavour is very bitter caramel, which makes a strange result. Some watery plum in aftertaste, with also smoked cigarrettes, old coffee and hay. Watery palate. Feels unbalanced.

pours a amber colour with a big foam, a firm whote head and leaves a perfect lacing; caramelish aroma, sweet, medium to full-bodied with a long moderately malty finish

Lot dated 22/10/06 expiration. Light beer with not enough richness in flavor. The dark fruits were missing in the aroma and flavor and the candi sugar was only very light. The head obtained on pouring was great and yielded great lacing, but I was wanting more in the flavor than what I got. A good beer to enjoy (and pretty drinkable), but just not up to par with my expections of “the best.”

Bottle. Dark brown, big beige head. Appley aroma with underlying sweet malts. Taste is caramel, coffee, chocolate, sweet malt with quite a bitter finish. Medium bodied, highly carbonated; very good.

A better than average belgian bruin ale, full flavor and good aroma
