Imperial Stout brewed with coffee. The great warrior of Gath. The mighty champion of the Philistines. embedded in ancient folklore and religion. Coming from the World of Old. His size and stature is not human. He is bigger. The armor of Goliat is black. Creamy black lacings. Stands with a towering height. He can grab elements from both earth and heaven. Earthy, roasted, notes from the earth. Warming, pungent, sweet notes from the skies. His heart is beating slowly, almost endlessly slow. This man is thought to be invincible! June 2013: Shared 375 ml bottle, thanks to Ole Anders. Pitch black colour, moderate tan head. Strong roasty aroma of coffee and wood, a hint of ashes. Even more distinct roasty and coffee notes in the flavour, quite dry, woody and ashy.

Pours out a solid black color with a two inch brown head. The aroma slightly sweet and of coffee. The mouth is think and rich. The taste raisins, oak and coffee.

A dark brown pour yields a 1+ finger, bubbly, dark tan head with good retention. Black body with lower levels of carbonation. Aromas of roasted grain, dark chocolate, coffee, sweet cream and caramel, some oats as well. Flavors of roasted notes, coffee and oats up front. Lots of flavor for sure. Big finish of roasted grain, roasted coffee beans, oats, sweet cream and bitter dark chocolate. Good oats and roasted bitterness here, with coffee and dark chocolate rounding it out. Nice. Medium body and medium levels of carbonation.Overall this is really good, well worth checking out, recommended.

Had this right after a Kopi Luwak stout, and the comparison ended up being "cheaper coffee (in this one) but better beer." Huge nose and flavor of raisinettes and coffee. Did I mention the coffee. Dark roast. Nicely, if a touch overly, done. This is defiinitely a big aggressive beer. Not a lot of subtlety, but done well. A must for coffee &/or stout lovers.

Rich, smoky aroma has a dominate note of quality coffee and hints of unsweet chocolate and licorice, plus a touch of - anchovy? It pours a deep, rich sable with a thick tan head that leaves generous lacing. Superb flavor has a core of quality roast coffee and notes of chocolate and brown sugar plus hints of licorice and burnt hops. Smooth texture has plenty of body, but lacks fizz. This is a must for Stouties - danged near perfect.
