This Chili Pepper Ale was inspired by the legendary outlaw Joaquin Murrieta who was said to be both a hero and a thief in his day. The tale says that he was finally gunned down and his head was placed in a jar for proof that the Bandito was actually caught and killed. We honor his memory with this cervesa style ale blended with local Fresno Chilies and other spicy peppers. "El Bandito Del Valle" still lives on in this flavorful spicy beer.

    Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7

    22oz bottle -

Aroma - green, chili aroma dominates the olfactory senses. Fresh cut bell peppers/chiles, maybe a little briny too.

Appearance - light golden body, clear with a 2-finger bright white head, average retention, no lacing

Mouthfeel - light bodied, medium carbonation, prickly and warming

Flavor - Chilies. Mild chilies and the burn is present but mild (at least for me). Head index on a 1-10 scale was about a 4-5. Big chilie flavor though.

Overall - Six Rivers sets the mark for great chilie beers with both flavor and heat. This brings the flavor and a little heat. Great for those that don't want a searing burn in the beer.
