I tried this beer on August 6, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a beautiful reddish-brown in the glass with a very thin white bubbly head. The aroma was sweet malt, some nuts, hops and wet cardboard. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour mas malty, slightly sweet, with a bitter finish.

Clear amber, tanned lacing foam head. Somehow I like the subtle taste of the English bitters. Nice hoppy aroma and bitter enough taste. OK beer. (Velp 201706)

500ml can from BCLDB Nordel Crossing. Clear amber pour, with a short-lived ivory head. Malty, one-dimensional aroma. Average mouthfeel. Malty flavour, slightly sweet yet with some bitterness to finish. Easy drinking. Sessionable for sure. Nice label for a can, too.

Pours an average size frothy off white head and has a rusty, amber appearance. Weak lacing. Aromas of caramel and sweet malts. Flavours of caramel malts, some notes of resin hops, nutty and toasty malts. Somewhat of a bitterness on the palate mostly in the finish. Fairly excessive carbonation. Medium bodied. Not that bad, had better though.

I can honestly say that when it comes to bitters, this is the weakest bitter I have come across yet. A clear reddish gold with a grainy maly backbone. The flavour is very weak and more reminiscent of a North American light lager.

First brew tried from this brewery, and limited at the LCBO. Popped open the cap, and the beer came out foaming (with the same care I give other bottles). Big bubble carbonation and head is off-white, foamy, has good retention and produces great lace. Beautiful rich clean copper colour. Grainy nose with a little hop in the back. Smooth and slightly thick mouthfeel. The taste is on the caramel side, with a little hop finish and a grainy aftertaste. Nothing offensive here and no strong overpowering points, but a decent refreshing bitter.

Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with a large foamy head with some retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of refreshing caramel malt with a light dry hoppy finish. Taste is also a mix between some lightly sweet caramel malt with some light traces of dry English hops. Body is about average with some good carbonation. Easily drinkable with limited complexity.

A nice medium-bodied beer. It's appearance far surpasses any other characteristic with its rich dark amber color and creamy thick head. All other considerations are above average, such is a testament to its beauty. Good flavor.

Aroma is mellow and nutty with some malty sweetness and maybe slight butterscotch as well as caramel. Appearance is a rich, chestnut-amber in color when held to the light with a medium-sized head on top that is off-white in color and leaves creamy lacing on the glass. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with some quality complexity and balance with a pallete that is creamy and wet-like. Flavor is sweet malt with nuttiness as well as caramel with some slight buttschotch with an aftertaste that offers very mild bittering with a finish that is creamy, smooth, and tasty. Overall, solid ale here but nothing over-the-top and is totally a session brew for sure; recommended to some extent.

Aroma is richly and appetizingly malty, with hints of wheat and banana. Color is a nice, clear orangy amber with an off-white, fluffy, persistent head. Flavor was a bit of a let-down, though, on the thin side - not much malt and just a hint of hops. It is good, though, and this beer would be much better if the flavor had some strength. Finish is smooth and leaves a touch of hops and fruit.
