12 oz bottle courtesy of Boboski. Dark big black crude oil pour with brown head. Really nice malty aroma with hints of coffee to start then burnt malts and molasses. The flavor has smooth malt notes like burnt malts, hints of sweet caramel malts and more burnt malts that mingle peacefully together with coffee and molasses. Very nice with lots of interest. Only minor fault I could find is that is comes off a tad thin.

On tap at the Trivia Pub in Moon Twp. Pours like old oil from a shovelhead, opaque black. Smells like the aroma of an old dirty toilet that needs cleaning. Initial taste of licorice, but not as strong as bells expedition. Coffee, dried coco shells, hardy and robust. Very little carbonation. Bitter lingering finish.

Bottle from boboski, My 800 rating: Poured a black tar color crude oil with a thin light brown tan color head. Flavor is roasted malt, very sweet essence of caramel. Very tastey sweet caramel splash that turns into that deep roasted malt. If this is overhyped, I can’t wait to drink the beers above it on ratebeer!

Minimal dark brown head hangs on top of a midnight black body. Fruity, smokey, licoricey nose. Full bodied, chewy texture. Lots of roast, coffee, some black malt notes, chocolatey, along with some vinous and whiskey notes too. Lots going on here. Alcohol makes itself apparent as a pleasent warming feeling, lets you know its in there. Finish is dry, roasty, very nice! Thanks to hopsrus! You rock bro!

Pours out a 100% black brew with a tan head. The aroma is heavy roasted malt and licorice smell. The mouthfeel is good and thick. The taste is of smoke and dark roasted malt.worth trying again.

A jet black colored beer with a big creamy textured tan colored head rising above. There's great hang time on the head. It settles into a thick, persistent cap. Light chocolate and lighter coffee on the nose. A burnt chocolate immediately as I take the first sip. Let it warm and the bitterness of dark roasted coffee comes through. Slick resiny on tongue. I like the flavors on this one.

I picked this beer up from the Farmer's Market in Downtown Roanoke, VA. It is VERY roasty - roasted malts dominate the flavor. There is some heat - traces of alcohol at the finish. An overall very nice beer. A bit pricey though.

Not bad but then i'm not a real stout person. had a nice aroma of coffee and chocolate. had a very black pour, barely see any light through the beer, has a nice brown head. has a typical stout taste and is a good beer for cold windy Ohio days

As dark as a Siberian night with little head but good lacing. Smells of molasses, tar and anise. Mouthfeel is a touch light for an imp but still full and smooth. Flavors are burnt and roasted malts, tar, leather and molasses. Maybe not the most over the top imp but certainly easy to drink and well balanced, I love it. Thanks to Kinger, great trade Cory.
