Black ale the color of midnight, due to being brewed with black malt, chocolate malt and roasted barley. Flavors of espresso coffee and bittersweet chocolate accentuated by a smooth mouthfeel provided by the classic nitrogen pour.

02.18.05 Black with thick brown head. Earthy, which was great, chocolate, roasty aromas betray bitterness. A touch sour, creamy (nitro). Reminds in some ways of Lancaster. Nitro sucks. Could be more bitter.

Black color, creamy tan head. Chocolate and coffee aroma. A bid bodied stout. Chocolate malts predominate the taste. Bold flavor with a dry finish. Well balanced. Nice stout. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is smooth and dry. Aftertaste us malty and slightly bitter.

I had a sample of this one at the brewery. Had a very black color with light brown foam. Good lacing. Coffee aroma and flavor. Dry. Light body that's very smooth, which makes this a beer you could drink plenty of.
