India pale Ale, or IPA, was developed to quench the thirsts of British settlers in the East and West Indies. The Bodega Head IPA recreates the stylistic ideas of the 1800's. High alcohol and aggressive hop charecteristics are matched with a dry malt background and finish.

got to try this both regular and cask versions. not quite big enough to stand up to the cask, but decent either way. pine and floral hops, ample bitterness and sweet malt. well balanced with a bitter aftertaste. not a standout, but not bad either.

Pours with a yellow-orange body topped by a medium thick head with lots of lacing. It’s a little weak but slightly hoppy with notes of pine and a touch of sweet malt. Medium bodied, smooth and dry.
