Dunkelweizen or Dunkel Weissebier is a darker, toastier take on Bavarian German Wheat beers. High carbonation lifts the dark malt flavors to balance traditional clove and banana notes of the weizen yeast strain. We made ours with 50% wheat malt (3 different types) with the remainder comprising Munich and Melanoidin malt.
