pours a somewhat dark hazy ornage, big fluffy head. aroma is a shot of hops at first, but that quickly fades to a sustained malty sweetness. not bad, but the hops are overpowered. same in the flavor, pine and sweet malt with a bittersweet finish. the thicker feel would work with a hoppier beer, but is just ok here. full bodied = nice, but a bit cloying. overall, a just above average beer, but a below average IIPA.
