Tabernash Pilsner is a brilliant, crisp Pilsner-style lager reminiscent of the golden beers of Northern Germany. Oper-fermented at cool temperatures and cellar-conditioned for six weeks before packaging, our Pilsner exhibits a richness and a balance of character achievable only through such patient, diligent brewing methods. Two additions of Saaz hops lend this brew its zesty hop character - the signature of the world's great Pilsners.

    Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6

12 oz bottle, bottled on 11/16/04. Pours a very slightly hazy yellow with a small, fizzy white head that quickly goes down to a thin ring.

The aroma is metallic and skunky - some hops and spices try to peek through.

The flavor is rather bland - a little sweet malt with some spicy hops that are a bit metallic. It has a pretty crisp finish. It's inoffensive and easy to drink. The mouthfeel is thin to medium with decent carbonation.

Pilsners are not my favorite style. This is an OK pils, but nothing exciting in my book. The more I drank of it, the more I warmed up to it.

Medium gold color, small head. A medium bodied pilsner. Mild malts, slightly sweet. Hops are slightly spicy and mild. Smooth taste. Good flavor. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

This review is from notes taken a while back thin head, looks like a pilsener - yellow, (were you expecting me to say that it was black?), refreshing taste. a decent pils.
