Little known Summits trivia: Years ago when brewer Freddy Bensch launched his first beer he kilned his malts in the oven at our original store in Sandy Springs. Years later Summits is still a huge fan of SweetWater and we are thrilled that this special blend was created just for all of US in honor of our anniversary! This is an IPA that has been dry-hopped using Centennial hops. You’ll taste orange peel, as well as some other hidden goodies. This is in honor of our longstanding relationship with SweetWater – one which we hope continues to “brew” for many years to come! (pun intended)!

Comes out of the tap a hazy, barely translucent golden amber - looks almost like honey - with a nice light tan head. Aroma fills the nostrils with evergreen, promising a very hoppy IPA; a fruity undertone adds to the appeal. Hoppy flavor does not disappoint - it is resiny and evergreen, with sweet fruity hints, a touch of malt, and minimal bitterness. Texture is a little weak, though, on the thin side and not to fizzy. Still, that hardly detracts from a very enjoyable beer. This was brewed especially for Summits’ anniversary celebration, and I am all too glad to drive all the way to Snellville to celebrate! Happy Friday the 13th - so who’s superstitious? Think I’ll go spill some salt, walk under a ladder, and let a black cat cross my path.
