Continuing our quest to despoil and desecrate conventional beer styles, we're raiding Trappist traditions to produce this Belgian Style Ale brewed with Rye, Oats and Wheat. Our first beer EVER brewed with Wheat! Belgian yeast creates classic clove-spiced banana aroma and flavor. Dry hopping brings floral and citrus aromatics to the biscuity-smooth malt body.

Pours a crystal clear mahogany with no head to even think of. Small trickles of carbonation coming from the bottom of the glass. Very floral and woody aroma with some hops added. Slightly boozy aroma as well. taste is of the most complex beers I have ever had. Booze is very evident but is subdued by a fairly decent dose of oak woodiness. Slightly hopped. Body is very tame, not very thick. Slight metallic taste as well. Not the best from the brewer.

A very big beer and a decent representation of the Belgian style for an American brewer. Way too expensive imo, as are all the Surly one offs. A rich, sweet, dark fruit flavored beer, that while good, I likely will not pick up again do to price, you could get a lot more Corsendonk for that money.

Passed on the $20 bottles but very happy to find this on tap. This is one big, boozy Belgian style beer with notes of fruity hops, bananas, cloves, and yeast. Could definitely use some time to mellow out.
