A fermenting beer never slumbers. Consequently, there is always scattered activity tending our precious beers throughout the dark hours. In these late nights and wee hours that hallowed responsibility falls to the shoulders of the overnight Brew Crew. These brewing soloists brave the long nights, often alone, to do what needs to be done. Most areas of the brewery are dark or in shadows. Throughout the night the cellars resonate with the occasional knocking of expanding and contracting pipes. It can be a bit spooky to hear the brewery creak and groan as if possessed by a spirit randomly knocking about with a mallet. This IPA, liberally hopped with Loral, honors our intrepid overnight team by naming it after their mischievous poltergeist companion – the Ghost Hammer.

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7
Rated Aug. 2017. 12oz can pours with a near clear gold body that supports a thin lasting off white head of foam. The aroma offers up spicy, woody and floral hops as well as a strawberry note. The taste delivers similar notes of bitter spicy and floral hops rolling quickly into a strawberry note and a sense of papaya. Interesting take but the hop profile isn’t working for me as the floral is a bit too forward and not playing well with the strawberry like fruitiness.

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6
Pours clear topaz with a frothy and persistent porcelain head. Aroma delivers fresh-cut evergreen hops plus a hint of fresh malt. Flavor presents woody and evergreen hop tones accompanied by subtle malt and citrus. Mouthfeel offers good smooth body but only a ghost of a tingle. Brave the Ghost Hammer - but if you get hammered, please call a cab.
