Rated in Aug. 2009. Growler pour courtesy of JW77. Pours copper with gold edges and thin white head. The aroma is spiced red apple, yeasty spice and other softer smoother blended spices. The flavor starts off a lot like the aroma with solid spiced ripe red apple wedges and then moving into solid white wine notes.

WOW!!! This was one of the best in show at the 2009 Stone Winter Storm. One of the most delicious and complex beers I've ever had. Great mix of oak, sweet, yeast, and hops in the nose and flavor. Perfect body, and a lingering finish...and it ran out fast!

Tasted on tap at Stone Bistro during the 08 RBSG. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a deep orange color from the tap. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, touch of wine and oak. A medium bodied Belgian Strong Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The clove, ginger and citrusy flavors have diminished from the regular version and there are nice notes of red wine and oak. The hops are kind of earthy. Nice dry finish with some oak at the finish. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with some tannins.
