Our strong German Lager is rich in flavor and tradition. Doppelbocks were traditionally brewed for the season of Lent serving as "liquid bread" for the monks while they were fasting. This beer is higher in alcohol with a very low hop bitterness which allows the clean, rich malt flavors to dominate the flavor profile. It is made using only the finest German malts and fermented with a lager yeast from Munich with a 700 year old lineage.

Poured a lightly hazy, copper color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of nuts, toasted bread, caramel malts, light smoke, and tobacco. Taste was full, caramel malts, nuts, smoke, light roasted malts, with a hint of alcohol in the finish. Chewy mouthfeel.
