In 1964, the shining Stella Pils was launched for the first time in Mauritius with a 4.8% alcohol content. In 1985, it was revamped to a brand new product - Stella Pure Gold with 3% alcohol content. Stella Pils bagged the Monde Selection Gold Award for this new beverage in 1989. The flavoured lager beer was relaunched recently and is marketed in 650 ml bottles and 300 ml cans. After 20 years, Stella Pils won the Monde Selection Gold Award for Stella Pils in 2009.

Shared 330 ml can at local tasting, thanks to abemorsten. Pale golden colour, low head. Moderate sweetish aroma, hints of grass and candy. Thin mouthfeel. The flavour has a hint of citrus, but both the malts and hops are poorly represented.
