Part of a World Market 9-pk "Beers of the World" The aroma was the tell that this would be another funk & skunk brew and that's about the most redeeming thing I can say about it. Pale carbonated grassy beer.

It pours yellow-light golden with very thin white-head and some lacing. An aroma of sour corn malts, faint hops, lemon-citrus, and mild spice. The mouthfeel is smooth and rich. Flavors of tart malts, some hoppiness, lemon-citrus, and mild spiciness. Not bad, could be better.

This is a flavored water drink. Plain and simple. It is brewed with the four simple ingredients but there is no character. The taste is very plain. This is a brew that is made to get you drunk. No taste, nothing special at all. I think that if you paddle hard or work hard this is a nice refresher and nothing more.

It's a pale, stale, lager. Regular Steinlager has a ho-hum drinkability with a low-class aftertaste. This 'Pure' version is still ho-hum, but no aftertaste. I guess it's 'premium' for a convenience store quality beer (that's where I get mine from) but I feel it's definitely not worth the money. You don't buy this to enjoy the taste - you buy it to get drunk. For the money, there's 40-ounce malt liquors, which have an aftertaste, but is cheaper. I won't buy this with my own money, but I won't turn it down for free at parties. Should you spend your own money on this? I don't think so. But I was curious and I paid for it. Big regrets. OK beer, lousy pricing. Lower the price, and my rating would go up. When it comes to average beers, it's all about the price per ounce. Steinleager Pure? Not worth the price. Sorry if I'm redundant but I'm trying to save you some hard-earned money.
