In Franconia they drink Märzen. It is red. The Brits brew Red Ale, also red. So I thought: why not a red lager? Spendrups Röd Lager is brewed using, amongst other things caramel malt, which creates a beer with a fruitier aroma and redder colour. (translation of brewmaster Johan Spendrups's text on the can)

Clear amber, big fluffy head. Simple and sweet aroma of caramel. Sweet and malry flavour of caramel. A bit one-dimensional. Soft but sweet and slightly watery texture. Sweet finish. Not that bad...

Canned. Reddish copper colour with yellowish beige head. Wooden sweetish malty aroma. Sweetish bitter malty flavour. Reminds pretty much of standard British bitters.
