A Lager Brewed with 100% beechwood smoked pils malt (malt smoked in Bamberg, Germany). Pale golden in color, and lightly hopped, this lager is a showcase of the smoked malt, with a great smoked biscuit boquet and a smokey honey taste.

Having only tried this style a very few times, and it being the very good Aecht brand, the bar is pretty high so... Very hazy yellow with orange hued body thin ringlet of foam, no lace. Aroma faint smoke, kinda like the way your shirt a day or two after a BBQ, some other malts. Body is a bit thin, not watery but thin and slick, not much carbonation. Flavor, like the aroma is faint smoke and some traces of honey. Overall it is o.k., reading the other reviews on here i would give it a second try later down the road.

The best American Rauchbier in the history of man ... rich, smokey, smooth, gods gift .. . You fellas have a lot of growing up to do, I'll tell you that. Ridiculous. Completely ridiculous. Can you believe these characters? Way out of line. Way out of line. Have a good mind to go to the warden about this. You know what hurts the most is the... the lack of respect. You know? That's what hurts the most. Except for the... Except for the other thing. That hurts the most. But the lack of respect hurts the second most.

Vielen Dank to Suds for this special 'pork soda'. I was worried about how this one would hold up, being hand-bottled and all, but it was GREAT! The nose was greated by the rich smokey aromas of sugar-cured bacon and robust Bamberg malts. Golden in color with an initially effervescent white head that dissipates leaving a mostly still body. Smooth, almost silky mouthfeel that prepares the way for wonderfully fresh and lively flavors; rich and balanced taste of honey and ham, soft grain and fresh sharp hops. Finishes long and sticky. Makes me long for Bamberger zwieblen. MUSIC: 'Pigs Fly' by The M's
