355 ml bottle, shared by gunnar. Pitch black colour, moderate to low brown head. Nice aroma of chocolate / cocoa, molasses and coffee. Same elements in the flavour, add a little liquorice and decent hops, and you’re there. Good stuff.

Solid black pour with a brown head that settles to a thin cap. Nice oily lacing. Aroma of burnt wood and black coffee. Full rich flavour. Sweet molasses start followed by roasted malt, a bit of smoke, espresso, dark chocolate, licorice and some bitterness.Full and oily mouthfeel. Overall, yummm.

Dark brown with about an inch of tan foam on top after an aggressive pour. The foam left nice spider legs on the sides of the glass as it was consumed. Rich roasty aroma with hints of coffee and dark, bittersweet chocolate. On the bitter side, with coffee being the dominant taste, although the roasted malt comes in strong on the finish. Full bodied, but I was expecting a more viscous mouthfeel. Not as boozy tasting as you would expect. A solid imperial stout. Sierra Nevada continues to release tasty beers with an affordable price point. A must try for any stout lover. Recommended.

Drank this one from the tap. Boy was it think and black just the way I love them. First taste hit me with bitterness but smoothed out from there on. It was great with my cigar so I had a second one. Oops that was a mistake because it has a high abv. My buddy did the driving home.* Have also had this many times from the bottle and it's not as hoppy as the draft.

Wanted to sample a few ounces first in a flight before committing to a 4-pack. Reminded me almost of one of the best IPS that I had, which was one of their 30th Anniversary stouts in the 750ml bottle (Ken & Fritz or something like that). Not quite as good as that, and seemed a bit more mass produced. Balance and feel slightly below the top of the line imperials. Going to have to try an entire bottle now to be sure, but for $2.50 per 12 oz. it is well worth it!

Pours pitch black with a sub one finger head that stays for a while. Aroma is heavily malted with hints of roasts, coffee, licorice, dark fruit, and rye. taste is boozy with a hit of metal that subsides. Hints of very dark roasts, licorice, and dried fruits. Finished off fairly chewy with a hint of metal. Very nice beer that gets better after the first drink.

Black pour with a very tight tan head leaving droopy lacing. Rich deep roasted malt aroma and initial flavor, dark molasses, black licorice, dark chocolates, slight coffee - rich rich and roasted. Damn good and big stout. Nice roasted bitter linger. Very well crafted.

Sampled from bottle thanks to Dale. Pours opaque with a collared tan head. Dark fruit and roasted malt aroma. Some bitterness up front. Mocha dominated the flavor with a bit of dark fruit. Full-bodied and smooth.

12 oz bottle. Pours inky black with a big creamy brown head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is sweet roasted grains, chocolate, and some black licorice.
The flavor is some sweet lactic chocolate quickly followed by a big roast bitterness, some black licorice and a little dark fruit and coffee. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, a solid imperial stout. -

Aroma absolutely screams "DRINK ME!" Smoky, oily, with strong notes of roast malt, quality coffee, chocolate and molasses, it demands that you take more than a mere taste. It pours an oily black sable that could hide in the folds of Darth Vader’s cape, with a firm and fine-bubbled tan head that hangs around for a while. Smoky flavor has firm tones of top-shelf malt and chocolate - you’d think they had tossed Hershey bars into the mash tun. Subtle notes and hints of quality coffee, molasses and caramel sneak through. Sweetness is not too strong - this ain’t no dessert beer. Firm, smooth, somewhat oily texture has a good amount of fizz and leaves a smoky, chocolaty, lip-smacking finish. Nar this whal when you can! :D
