This classic West-Coast style India Pale Ale is loaded with pronounced citrus and grapefruit rind hop notes with a hint of sweet malt in the aroma. The smooth malt flavor is backed by an assertive hop character from generous amounts of "new-school" aromatic hops including the Amarillo and Simcoe varieties used during dry hopping. This bold and aggressive IPA remains drinkable and will keep you coming back for more.

Tap at City Beer Store. This beer was brewed at SN’s beer camp, which was attended by City Beer’s owner, Craig. It’s a very good IPA with a big hop presence. It’s mostly pine/citrus hop notes, probably leans toward pine (a bit like SN generally). It’s quite dry with good yeast presence. I’d normally worry about too many cooks spoiling the pot with this sort of endeavor, but HopStar turned out rather well. It’s not my personal favorite of a hop bill (I lean toward Simcoe dominant (D)IPAs), but there are no real faults. The aroma is strong and clean. It’s easy to drink and quite satisfying. (sorry for putting my review in the description field accidentally)
