@Sierra Nevada: not as big as i was expecting with the aroma...some chocolate, molasses, roasted malts, etc...but the flavor was huge. all of the above and licorice, alcohol, prunes/raisins, just big. it was quite tasty as it warmed up (what started out a little over sweet became more balanced near room temp). pretty black with some thin brown head and lacing, medium-full mouthfeel. a nice beer.

On tap at a fine establishment (although I have no idea how they scored one of these fairly rare kegs). Poured an opaque dark brown body with a soapy tan head and minor lacing. Aroma of figs, dates, licorice, chocolate and mild coffee. Great sipping porter, medium firm body with a bitter sweetness and finishes on a tangy ever so slightly sour note. Rich flavors that mirror the aromas along with a dose of noble hops.
