500 ml bottle bought at the brewpub. Poured in the original Schreckenskammer 0.2 l Stange a pale gold or golden orange colored Kölsch with a two fingers white creamy foamy head that had a long retention. Active carbonation. Superb lacing. The aroma is mild, slight notes of sourness. The flavour is mild sweety grainy malts, bready, biscuits, some bitterness in the finish, notes of spice, peppery, hints of acidity. The mouthfeel is crispy and round. This light bodied Kölsch has a quite dry finish. Certainly one of the best kept secrets from Köln- Downtown.

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Golden colour, mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is bready malts, some earth, herbs and mild notes of grass as well. Flavour is earth, saltwater, bready malts and some herbal notes as well. Quite pleasant. Underlying dryness between the mouth and throat from this one.

500 ml bottle. as Schreckenskammer Wirtz, 4.8% ABV, at RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg, thanks to Gunnar. Golden colour, low head. Grainy, herbal and slightly spicy aroma. Fairly well balanced pilsener-like flavour, easy drinking, with a slight fruitiness and herbal hints, acceptable hoppy bitterness.
