I only found this slightly better than the average pale yellow american beer. However, I was very happy with my variety case from Schell; pale ale, octoberfest, pilsner, double boch, caramel boch, firebrick, maifest, doppelbock, zommerfest, etc. Wow what a variety…..loved it.

Not bad. Aroma is slightly skunky. Nice mouth feel to it. Taste is a little bitter with a decent dose of lemon taste to it. All and all not bad brew from a world class brewery. Will have again.

Sampled from a bottle on their brewery tour, and then again from a mixed case. Label as above. Clear golden body with a full head of bright white foam. Good retention and thin yet long lasting lace. There is a nice smell of citrus and grassy hops. The flavor has some nice bready and toasted malts and a mix of citrusy hops. The body is light/medium, good carbonation, fits the style, dry finish. It is a nicely flavored and more complex than expected. Great on a hot day.

Pours a clean, bright golden colour. Head is small and creamy. Grain, honey and bread on the nose. Mouthfeel is pretty light also, a little undercarbonated perhaps? Flavors of honey and lemon. Firm hop finish.

Nice and light. Has a little citrus scent and flavor. Not Schell's best effort. I think that the lack of aroma and taste are indicative of the American examples that I have had of this style rather than the style itself.

Poured with a golden color that almost resembled your favorite mass produced beer and a head that fell apart almost instantly and regrouped as a thin layer of white foam. Despite that bad start, I enjoyed this beer. It had the body, mouthfeel, maltiness of a summer ale, with a slight touch of extra hop bitterness. I have had better examples of this style, although I do feel that this was quite good.

Was a decent beer for this type. I cannot seem to drink alot of this style. Even though this is made for hot summer days, it is filling and a bit strong in taste. I did not really find it refreshing.
