For some reason, I was expecting a little more sweetness since doppelboch has a BV rating of 65. Had a little more bitterness than expected but was not bitter per se. Very dark brownish orange in my three stooges glass. Over all not bad for a dark beer and the price.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Concerniing my Schell variety case: I was very happy with my variety in the case from Schell; pale ale, octoberfest, pilsner, double boch, caramel boch, firebrick, maifest, doppelbock, zommerfest, etc. Wow what a variety…..loved it.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cost was about $1 per bottle from JR Beer Warehouse in Rochester PA.

Not the best of the Bock beers. I prefer a good Shiner Bock to this beer. The Leinie's Doppel Bock (Big Butt) is also a safer choice.

Very nice beer. Strong yet smooth in feel. Would buy again. Another great beer from Schell.
