Pours an almost black colour. Medium sized head dissipates way too quickly and leaves no lacing. Aroma is roasted malt and coffee. Flavour has the same as aroma, along with pepper. Pepper flavour increases towards the end and leaves quite an aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel. Not bad, sounds like it was better on draught.

On tap @ the Bent Elbow - pours a dark hazed black-brown with a decent tan cap. Aroma is spicy, cocoa, vanilla and, yes, pepper. Medium bodied, prickly mouth feel. Flavour has the front side much like a robust coffee stout but with underlying pepper, yet no heat....long rich finish with the pepper coming forward a bit. Warming comes after the sip with pepper heat replacing alcohol warmth. Interesting beer ...one of the few pepper beers I can drink

Sampled this one at the National Capital Craft Beer Festival in Ottawa. Has an average head and has a dark brown appearance. Huge spiced aromas. Flavours are mild chocolates, coffee, and spices very much apparent. A nice tingling and warming sensation as well as mouthfeel. Much more spicy in the finish. Great stuff!

Enjoyed at the National Capital Craft Beer Week with PaleAleRider. First brew when I got there. Pours a dark brown colour with a beige head, very long retention and creamy lace. Coffee nose with some roasted malts. Smooth, almost creamy, and wet mouthfeel. Beautiful spicy dark malt taste with the warming finish from the cayenne pepper. Eventually, nice fruity notes come out, kind of like cherries. Very nice and very well-blended. Can't wait to get this in bottles at the LCBO and a wicked start to the festival.

Part of the featured brews at the Sawdust City Tap takeover. The beer pours a solid dark brown with a creamy brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, nuts, and coffee. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is a mixture of coffee and hot pepper. While the pepper is not noticeable in the aroma, you can certainly taste it.
